April:
Today we sailed to The Baths on Virgin Gorda. Once we got there we took the dingy closer to swim in. Dad and Fiona led the swim, but they determined the swim to shore was too far and rough for everyone. So we took the dingy back to the boat and sailed to the nearby marina in Spanish Town. From Spanish Town we took a cab to the restaurant above the Baths. It was beautiful! Fiona and I swam in the pool and we had an amazing meal. After that we went back to the boat and had some cheese and crackers and mint tea and went to bed.

On this beautiful sunny day we sailed from Trellis Bay to Virgin Gorda. Our first stop was the famed Baths, "a geological wonder comprised of awe-inspiring granite boulders, which form sheltered sea pools on the beach's edge". Matt and I came here about 15 years ago but haven't been back since. I recalled a wonderful and unique experience exploring through the boulders in the water. It is also a great spot for snorkeling. Our plan was to swim, explore, snorkel, hang out on the beach, and go to lunch at the restaurant above the Baths.

The sail to the Baths was 1-2 hours. Once moored the six of us piled into the dingy with our bags and snorkel gear. We discovered that you cannot take your dingy to shore, you must tie it up to a line about 100 meters offshore and swim in the rest of the way. The waves were a little rough, and the water is too deep to touch the bottom until almost at shore. After some deliberation and determination, it became clear that getting six of us to shore with dry bags was not feasible. So instead we rode along the shore line seeing the wonder of these boulders set in crystal blue water and white sandy beaches.
We took the dingy back to the sailboat and sailed to a nearby marina in Spanish Town. From there we took a taxi to the restaurant above the Baths. We enjoyed looking out over the Baths from a patio while we ate lunch with some cold Caribs (the local beer).
When we made our way back to 'Peace Out' it was pretty late in the afternoon so we decided to spend the night in Spanish Town. We relaxed on the front of our boat, had some laughs, the girls got silly and danced. Do passed us a cheese board through the front porthole as we enjoyed a beautiful sunset with a glass of wine.

Life is good. Only love.
