Since we were docked in a marina and anxious for adventure with Patti, Mark, Ava and Griffin we skipped most of our morning rituals and hit the water. Our first stop was planned to be snorkeling at The Indians, but the water and wind were too rough so we headed for the Caves instead. These are three natural caves that are about 20 feet high and 15-20 feet deep in the rocks right at the water line just outside The Bight. Fun fact - Norman Island and the Caves were the inspiration for Treasure Island and real-life treasure seekers since it was a notorious pirate layer back in the 1700’s. A great place for sun & water loving adventure seekers!
Once moored we did our daily swim around the boat, then most of us put our snorkel gear on and swam over to the Caves. We saw jacks and terrapins hanging out in the shadow under our boat and tons of other fish around the coral and rocks near the Caves.
In April’s words:
“When we were snorkeling we saw lots of cool coral and fish. One fish was rainbow. We also saw a huge green sea turtle and a giant conch shell."

Meanwhile Fiona and I explored the outside of the Caves from a SUP board.

After a little more swimming and SUP boarding in this idyllic spot we put the sails back up and headed for White Bay on Jost Van Dyke.

White Bay is our favorite beach, and home of the famous Soggy Dollar beach restaurant/bar. They have a webcam where we waved to friends and family at home (thanks Dad for the screen capture!)

We had fish tacos and rotis for dinner on the beach and the children played beach volleyball and April and Ava swam and played in the waves. As the sun set we hopped in our dinghy and headed back to Peace Out for the night.
It was another great day on the water!
