Return to Pura Vida

After relearning how to embrace the Canadian winter (since we missed it last year) we have returned to the sunshine and relaxed vibe of Costa Rica. This time we are in Mal Pais on the Nicoya Peninsula, accompanied by our good friends the Bakshis (Susan, Vivek, Jack, Aubrey and Nik). We have a beautiful house, with a pool, and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Everybody is in heaven here.

Mal Pais and neighboring Santa Teresa are everything I hoped for, with the warm temperatures (high 30's!), dry climate (it is their dry season afterall), beautiful beaches, surrounding jungle, great fresh food available everywhere including on the beach, and yoga and surfing everywhere you turn. And while all our favorite things are at our finger tips, it doesn't feel overly developed. The roads have potholes or aren't paved, restaurants are simple and rustic, there are hostels and small hotels (almost all of them specializing in surfing and/or yoga), and houses you can rent up on the hillside.
April & Fiona are so excited to be drinking "pipas" again (coconut water).

The children are all having the time of their lives playing in the waves.

Matt is content sleeping in hammocks on the beach.

And I am content to be going to really amazing yoga classes (with Matt & Susan) in a beautiful spot in Santa Teresa high up on the hill overlooking the ocean. It is very reminiscent of where I trained in yoga during our time in Pavones, Costa Rica last year.
Looking forward to more fun in the sun, adventures, relaxation and simply time to be here with family and friends in this beautiful place. Pura Vida.
