Soaking it Up

We woke up this morning, the day our long journey home would later begin, with mixed feelings. This place is so beautiful it's difficult to leave. But we are missing our babies, husbands, mom, dad, Bill, Riley, Granny.. and the rest of our friends and family so much. We were feeling excited to go home and also eager to soak it all up today.

To make the most of our time left in Krabi we got an early start to our day. We strolled through the resort with yoga mats in hand, destined for Phra Nang Beach (one of the two beaches adjacent to our resort property). We wanted to spend some time enjoying the serenity of this beautiful place in the early morning sun and before it became crowded. It was peaceful and calm and truly breathtaking.

We took our time walking along the beach and exploring the caves that lay at the bottom of this massive rocky cliff. We were on the lookout for a good spot to roll out our mats and do some early morning yoga, and this looked like just the place. So we tucked in, Jennifer leading the way.

At first we just sat on our mats, taking in the view, and the moment. We practiced yoga for almost an hour, side by side, in unison with ease. We did lots of stretching in preparation for our long travels that would begin later today.

After flowing through several yoga sequences we eventually found our way into wild thing, perhaps naturally or instinctively mimicking the shape of Happy Island in front of us (which was not realized until after looking at a photo).

With a hearty appetite and the crowds moving in on us we rolled our mats back up and went for breakfast. Afterwards we decided the best place to soak up as much as possible was the comfy lounge cushions that separate Railay Beach (the other beach) from the pool. So we found our spot in the sun with the beach before us and the pool right behind us.

After some lounging and a swim, we went for a walk down the beach, headed back to the market we discovered yesterday for more smoothies and a little bit of last minute shopping. Then we headed straight back to our lounge cushions with nothing to do for the moment, and nowhere to be (for now). Like much of our time here, some moments were filled with giggles, some with reflection, and some with silence. We took another swim, enjoyed the view, and when our time was up we went back to our room to pack up. We left our cute little 2 storey pavilion for the last time.

Then we were back on the dock/pontoon boat with several other departing guests and our luggage, and eventually at the Krabi airport. Tonight we say goodnight from a hotel at the Bangkok airport. Tomorrow we will fly home to our beautiful families, friends and homes with full hearts, life experiences and treasured memories.
